DESCRIPTION
1-Tuberculosinol Adenosine is a terpene nucleoside produced exclusively by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is one of the most abundant lipids produced and acts as an antacid, disrupting phagolysosomes. It consists of a tuberculosinyl lipid connected to the 1-position of adenosine.
1-TbAd thioacetate is functionalized with a thioacetate, which is attached via a short aliphatic linker to the O5 of ribose in the adenosine moiety. The thioacetate enables surface functionalization, either directly or after deacetylation of the thiol.
